fear and fundraising

Time really is ticking by, and I’d give just about anything just to make the clock stand still so I can soak it all up: the fact that in just 2 weeks I’ll be graduating and 2 ½ weeks after that I’ll be boarding a plane for Cambodia. It’s hard to appreciate all of this when the days speed by and blur together, as they always seem to do this time of year. Between final projects and papers, upcoming exams and deadlines, I am in a constant state of near panic wondering how I will get everything done well and on time.

Truth be told, I’m starting to get scared for Cambodia. Like, what-did-I-sign-up-for-please-dear-Lord-get-me-out-of-this-alive kind of scared. Also, watching “The Killing Fields” last night did nothing to quiet my qualms about traveling to this distant place.

But, alas, as Julia of Norwich said all those years ago: “All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.” This has been my mantra lately; I’ve taken to whispering it to myself in the dark moments when I forget to remember the light.

Fundraising Update

I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve received from my family&friends—the promise of prayers, thoughts, readers, and monetary support has been overwhelming. In the past weeks, I have raised well over half of my sponsorship for this summer: $3,125 to be exact.

I have $1,375 more to raise before reaching the goal of $4,500 so if you are at all interested in contributing to my trip, or are interested in finding out more about my work, comment below!

Blessings abounding,

Sarah
